Primary Clinical Applications

Procedural otoscopy requiring angled visualization in pediatric patients or adults with very narrow ear canals. Essential for endoscopic ear surgery (EES) in small anatomies, allowing visualization of the middle ear recesses like the epitympanum, facial recess, and parts of the sinus tympani.

Clinical Advantages

Enables visualization 'around corners' within the confines of a small middle ear space. The 110mm length provides necessary working distance for instrumentation alongside the scope during EES. The 2.7mm diameter minimizes trauma during insertion and maneuvering.

Ideal Procedures

Pediatric endoscopic ear surgery; cholesteatoma removal in children or stenotic canals; exploration of middle ear recesses in small anatomies; ossicular chain assessment where angled views are needed in tight spaces.

Special Considerations

Combines the challenges of a small diameter (reduced brightness, requires care) with the disorientation of angled viewing in a confined space. Requires excellent illumination and surgeon experience with angled EES techniques.
