Primary Clinical Applications

Highly specialized scope for extreme angle viewing during procedures in pediatric or very stenotic ear canals. Used primarily for inspecting the deepest, most hidden recesses of the middle ear, such as the posterior sinus tympani, which may be inaccessible even with 30° or 45° scopes.

Clinical Advantages

Provides visualization access to the most challenging-to-reach areas within very small middle ear clefts. The 110mm length allows procedural use, albeit primarily for inspection. Critical for ensuring complete disease removal (e.g., cholesteatoma) from hidden corners in pediatric EES.

Ideal Procedures

Final inspection during pediatric cholesteatoma surgery; detailed examination of the sinus tympani in small ears; assessment of deep retraction pockets or pathology inaccessible by other means in stenotic canals; advanced pediatric EES.

Special Considerations

Extremely challenging to orient and use effectively due to the combination of small diameter, extreme angle, and confined space. Significantly reduced light transmission requires maximal illumination. Primarily used for inspection by highly experienced endoscopic ear surgeons; rarely used as a primary working scope.
