Primary Clinical Applications

Specifically designed for pediatric nasal endoscopy and endoscopic sinus surgery in infants and young children. Also used in adults with extremely narrow nasal passages, severe stenosis, or highly sensitive mucosa where larger scopes cannot pass.

Clinical Advantages

Minimizes trauma in very small nasal passages while still providing adequate visualization. The thin diameter allows examination of infantile nasal structures and pediatric sinuses with minimal discomfort.

Ideal Procedures

Nasal endoscopy in infants and young children; assessment of congenital nasal abnormalities; examination of severely stenotic passages in adults; evaluation of choanal patency in newborns.

Special Considerations

Image brightness is noticeably reduced compared to larger scopes, requiring powerful light sources. Handling requires extra care due to the delicate nature of the thin scope. Despite these limitations, modern 2.7mm scopes offer surprisingly good image quality.
