Primary Clinical Applications

Specialized inspection scope for extreme angle viewing during adult/older pediatric endoscopic ear surgery. Used to thoroughly examine the deepest and most hidden recesses, particularly the sinus tympani, after primary disease removal with 0° or 30° scopes.

Clinical Advantages

Provides maximum viewing angle into challenging areas like the posterior sinus tympani and hypotympanum. The 3mm diameter offers better illumination than its 2.7mm counterpart, aiding visualization at extreme angles. The 110mm length allows procedural inspection.

Ideal Procedures

Final inspection for residual cholesteatoma in the sinus tympani or other hidden recesses; detailed assessment of complex middle ear anatomy; verification of complete disease removal in revision EES; examination around Eustachian tube orifice from within the middle ear.

Special Considerations

Very challenging to orient and primarily used for inspection rather than as a working scope due to the difficulty of coordinating instruments under such an extreme angle. Reserved for specific checking tasks during complex EES by experienced surgeons.
