Primary Clinical Applications

Used for nasal endoscopy in patients with narrow nasal passages, significant septal deviation, or heightened sensitivity. Standard for pediatric sinus examination and surgery in older children. Also valuable for office-based procedures where patient comfort is essential.

Clinical Advantages

Improves patient comfort and reduces trauma while maintaining adequate image quality. Can navigate through narrower anatomical spaces than 4mm scopes, potentially visualizing areas a larger scope cannot access.

Ideal Procedures

Office-based nasal endoscopy in adults with narrow anatomy or for eustachian tube work; pediatric sinus examination; postoperative debridements; nasal endoscopy in patients with significant mucosal inflammation or previous surgery.

Special Considerations

Slight reduction in image brightness compared to 4mm scopes, though modern light sources largely compensate for this. Contemporary 3mm scopes offer significantly improved durability compared to older models, making them practical for regular use. It is less popular than its 13cm long cousin the P313N00 in the office but might be more useful for those who perform Eustachian tube balloon dilations.
